How to use your Palo Santo stick:
Light your Palo Santo stick with a lighter until it begins to flame.
Hold the stick downward at a 45-degree angle.
Let the stick burn for about 30 seconds, then blow out the flame, if necessary. 
The stick will burn with its aromatic smoke for a couple of minutes or more. 
You may choose to let it sit in a fireproof dish or waft the smoke around your space.
They usually go out on their own, however should you need to put it out do not use water, just gently nudge it into a small bowl of sand to extinguish it.

Never leave a burning Palo Santo stick unattended for any reason.
